The
Birth House was published February 14, 2006 by Knopf Canada as
the only title for the 10th anniversary of their New
Face of Fiction program. (Alumni of the program include, Ann-Marie
MacDonald, Gail Anderson-Dargatz, Steven Heighton, Lori Lansens, Yann Martel,
Mary Lawson, and Lilian Nattel to name a few)
I'm also thrilled
to announce that The Birth House has been scooped up in the UK and
the US! Clare Reihill of 4th Estate/Harper Collins UK has acquired it for
a publication date of August 2006. Claire Wachtel (editor of A. Manette Ansay's
Vinegar Hill and Dennis Lehane's Mystic River) acquired
it on behalf of Wm. Morrow/Harper Collins USA for publication August 2006.
German and Dutch translation rights were previously sold to
btb
Verlag (an imprint of Random House Germany) and Luitingh Sijthoff,
respectively.
